If you have found out that you have to move at short notice, it can be very stressful. Many movers require you to reserve the time for your move well in advance. That way they can make sure that they have plenty of people working at that time and enough vehicles to get your move accomplished as well as those of anyone else moving at the same time. However, if you find out that you have to move in just a few days, what are you supposed to do?

Call Out the Whole Gang

One option you have is to call all your friends and family members. You can ask them for help with packing your house as well as getting all your belongings to your new house or the storage unit or other final destination. The problem is that you may not be able to get enough help from your friends and family as you need, especially if you are on a very tight schedule. You may also still need to figure out a vehicle for moving if no one has a truck that you can use to move larger items like your couch, bed, or bookshelves. That means that you might still have to scramble to rent a truck to move everything.

Get Some Emergency Help

Some moving companies, like Modern Movers, Inc. for example, offer emergency or last minute moving services. That means that they can help you if you call them and tell them that you need to move quickly. They can come out to your house and start packing it up. They may even be able to pack it up for you even if you aren't able to be there the whole time they are packing up your house. The movers may be associated with a cleaning service that can come in and help with cleaning as well. If you use one of these emergency moving services, it's likely that you are going to have to pay an additional fee because it's a short notice move. The moving company may have to pay the movers overtime or bring in contractors to get the work done.

Moving is stressful. Being told that you have to move at very short notice means that you are going to have a lot more stress. There are a few ways that you can get the help that you need in order to finish the move. You don't have to handle it on your own.
